Thursday, Oct. 26,
My family and I have at last finished settling into our new home in Moonlight Falls. The town is a bit quirky, but the neighbors all seem very friendly. I start my new job on Monday and hopefully things will go well. To tell you the truth, when I first saw this house I am supposed to be surveying, I was a little unsettled. It is this enormous stone mansion on the west side of town and looks to be about three or four stories tall. Caroline Manor is the name on the records, and I do not know why, but looking at it gives me this overwhelming feeling of dread. It is almost as if the house is… looking back at me.

This was an insert from the journal of Todd Malcolm, a new member of the Moonlight Fall’s housing commission. Having just arrived in the town, with little knowledge of its history, he had been excited to hear he would be working alongside a small group of contractors to survey one of the town’s oldest residences to see if it would be fit to sell.

The house in question was known as Caroline Manor, a massive stone mansion that sat overlooking the town from its perch atop a small hill.
Even at just a glance, it was clear that something wasn’t quite right about this home. No matter the weather, a perpetual blanket of fog would surround the property, shrouding the grounds, yet somehow never passing past the moss-covered brick walls that surrounded them. Despite the home having been empty for years too many to count, the house never seemed to age. Ivy never grew up the walls, windows never stained and broke, and even though the town confirmed that the power had long ago been cut to the house, light could always be seen emanating faintly from inside.

These strange occurrences gave the residence a permanent home in local superstition. Anybody in town could tell of at least one odd encounter they have had with the Caroline Manor. Distorted voices of children heard ringing from the attic, the glow of a single candle seen moving from room to room, organ music echoing from seemingly nowhere, and the forms or several black shadows seen staring from the upstairs windows, just to name a few. Not surprisingly, the idea of trying to sell the old mansion wasn’t exactly a welcome one, but with recent changes in town management, the new board decided to check it out. Maybe the haunted history would make a good selling point.

Unfortunately, that survey that Mr. Todd Malcolm was to be a part of never happened. He and his construction team entered the home the Monday they were scheduled to, but once they did, they never came out. And everybody who tried to go in to find them came back with nothing. He and his entire team had simply... evaporated it seemed. However, after almost three weeks of investigations, one small item managed to be found in the library of the home. A small leather bound notebook with the initials T. Malcolm. There was one final entry inside dated Monday, October 30, stating:

I can't leave. The woman with no skin won't let me.

Even all these years later, the house is still empty. The strange occurrences continue on, but now, it seems a new one has been added. Now people have reported witnessing a small group of four shadowy apparitions appearing to them in the foyer windows. Three of them appear to be dressed in construction uniforms, and the fourth wears a dark suit and overcoat and a pair of small round glasses. It appears the souls of Todd and his crew have joined the other lost souls within the walls of Caroline Manor.

The question now is, will you follow them?

Merry late Christmas everyone I hope you enjoy this fun little haunted mansion as a late Christmas gift! It was fun to build and I hope you all enjoy placing it in your games and creating your own little ghost adventures! Happy Simming!
