I've been meaning to Sim and upload a version of each of the houses I've personally lived in. There have been many! I'm currently judging in Karen's "Campus Constructers" contest. Let me just say: judging is just a tough as I thought it would be. I'm trying my hardest to be fair and judge objectively - not take off points for just not liking the build... well, not too many points anyway. Also, I tried to write detailed, constructive, positive comments. I hope I succeeded in that regard; I think I did. I just got my 'sticker' for participating in a contest - WOOT! :bunny: My first contest participation was last August... O.o I also have 50 uploads on here now! Go me! I've got a couple more uploads almost ready to post too ;) ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : DL Spree : 28th Jan 2014 at 5:05 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=6848 ================================================================================ I was looking over Tiff's last lot upload and saw a few CC items that looked interesting... I shouldn't have followed the link, but I did. Just, you know, to 'see'... Yeah, the CC addict in me took over. I went on a 10+ hour DL spree. *sigh* Know I have almost 4,000 new items to recategorize, test, and sort into my game. I can't wait to use some of the things I found - they are gorgeous! But, ugh... why do I have to be so anal about catalog placement? When will I learn? :jest: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : What a mess! : 21st Jan 2014 at 8:35 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=6847 ================================================================================ Today I'm cleaning up (and out) my DL folder. Again. *sigh* I swear it has a mind of it's own. I try to keep it as neat and tidy as possible; but, somehow it gets into a mess. Kiri and BO over at Leefish are providing loads of help! I am eternally grateful, and deeply indebted to both of them :D BO is helping with my hacks folder while Kiri is looking into why my new graphics card isn't as shiny as it should be. Can't wait to get completely back in the building groove! Meanwhile, I've been clearing a few projects off my desktop. And, actually getting some work done on my jewelry website. ...I'd rather be simming ;) ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Not dead - yet... : 18th Jan 2014 at 7:36 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=6844 ================================================================================ Oh poor little journal, I forgot ALL about you. I'll try to pay you more attention from now on :D ...really, I will. Today I found a post from BO (Boiling Oil over at Leefish) about improving the wall overlay meshes that I did eons ago. He wrote the post a few less eons ago, but still long enough that I'm embarrassed to say I just NOW found it! So, anyway... I have taken his advice and fixed up my 3 overlay meshes. Finally. YAY! :Pint: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : 3 out of 6 are now up! : 2nd Sep 2011 at 7:27 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5686 ================================================================================ I haven't touched the other 3... ...and I started work on my first Apartment style place. It is a set of 4 townhomes - was gonna be a retirement home, but it's morphed a bit with construction and I think smaller families would enjoy living there too now. :duck: I hope I'm building it correctly - and 4 families will indeed be able to live harmoniously together on one lot. :turtle: :D ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : OK - How many hours later? Really? : 13th Aug 2011 at 9:52 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5652 ================================================================================ IE crashed just as I was inserting the last of the CC who-did-what information... yeah, I lost all that work. *sigh* I need to build something... I'll upload later, after my frustration subsides. :wtf: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : 2 months later... : 13th Aug 2011 at 5:30 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5651 ================================================================================ Well, I've compiled, photo'ed, and uploaded (and got approved - LOL!) several of the houses I mentioned in past journal entries. I still have Catherine's Folly (the castle) and Josie's Shrimp Shack (homebusiness,) mentioned previously, that still need photos and CC compilation before they hit the upload queue. Meanwhile... I have a Georgian Manor - which I'm hoping to get queued up today. And a Tea Shoppe - that might be queue-able today. And, here are preview pix of the next one Nouveau Hacienda: http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/29674_110813122154PreviewHacienda.jpg http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/29675_110813122607PreviewHacienda2.jpg ...and then there's also Portico Place: ...which I thought I'd photographed - huh, guess not. But, it'll probably be next after the Hacienda. Unless I go on another building binge, which is quite possible  If anyone reads this - please let me know what you think! K? ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : YAY! Mootilda! : 16th Jun 2011 at 3:07 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5545 ================================================================================ Let me just say... Mootilda is the BESTEST!!! :bunny: Cookies all 'round! Nom, nom, nom. Not only did she figure out and fix my AGS difficulties, she went above and beyond to fix a few other naggly little things (yes, for those who read yesterdays rant, I now also have a working OFB version AGS!) I've been busy with my shiny NL AGS tonight; I've added a carport and tbudgett's wall retainers - the house looks much better. It's about ready for the queue - just need to get my CC lists in order so it's easier to do the 'upload dance' --- :luff: Thank you, Mootilda! :duck: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : AGS woes... : 14th Jun 2011 at 4:26 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5543 ================================================================================ From my last entry: "...I made a Nouveau-Federal Manse. I didn't use much CC at all - so it will probably get uploaded the soonest (I gotta play-test it and take pix yet.)" Well, I finally got that submitted last night - I'm sure I'll have corrections to make before it gets uploaded (if...) Meanwhile, I did a little something for the Fitness Theme - which got accepted right away! (Thank you, mods!!!) I redid Woodland Park from the BG, and made the lake swimable. I put up 2 versions so all game configs can use it. Yea me! Then, day before yesterday, instead of finishing up the previously mentioned houses :faceslap: , I tried my hand at another BG house. This time, an Earth-Sheltered sloped/hillside lot. I think it's pretty cool: http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/28269_110614110901EarthShelterPreview.jpg Now, what I'd like to do (and can't figure out how) is make an alternate version for NL with a carport and tbudgett's retaining wall system. BUT, I can't get the AGS to play nice with NL. It will be in the AGS3 slot, if that makes any difference. I installed/uninstalled/etc... AGS3/NL (and tried NL/UNI combo) all night last night, to no avail. HELP! I've also found (since I started using AGS) that I can't make a game with any config that uses OFB as the highest game. Which isn't really a problem - I wouldn't need that config anyway. But I'd really like a NL testing/building game! Before you ask: yes, I've read every comment in all the AGS/BGS threads (young and old) and I've searched here and googled there for an answer. I found a few ideas to try - but they didn't work (obviously...) Honestly, I was up way past midnight last night trying to make this work. PS: I'm on Vista/64 - and I've always followed Mog's advice with ticking the 'run as admin' box and also always right-clicking the icon and 'running as admin' to start the AGS game. I've had an AGS3 that worked fine (it was an "everything" game - to MG- and it has successfully been made permaGame3) I also have a BGonly in the PermaGame2 spot, and an AGS1 with NL/OFB/MG, and AGS2 with NL/BV/MG. I don't think my problem is with the 'user' :wtf: , but that is a possibility. Ugh! Any ideas would be enthusiastically accepted and tried. Thanks! ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Building spree... : 4th Jun 2011 at 2:23 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5522 ================================================================================ I've been building like crazy! I've got several houses in the works -actually, they're done. But, not ready for MTS2 yet. I can't find the heart to take away some of the CC in them. +The house pictured below is done - with it's above ground pool and secret attic studio. +The triangle house is done. It's SOOO cool! My favorite build so far. But, it has Wind's/TSR 2-tile round Helios window - which is PERFECT! The house just isn't right without it (- and Dincer's Millenium fireplace.) And I haven't found acceptable MTS2 substitutes yet. +I've got a sweet little castle on a hill, which is actually uploadable - but it will take me weeks to get the CC documented *sigh* +The I made a quaint little beach house. I'm gathering the CC list for that one now... +Along with the beach house theme, there is a home business/restaurant next door - which is also pretty much ready to upload here. Just needs a CC list compiled... +Yesterday, instead of creating CC lists, I made a Nouveau-Federal Manse. I didn't use much CC at all - so it will probably get uploaded the soonest (I gotta play-test it and take pix yet.) Whew! I think there may be one or two more (I'm away from my main 'rig' so I can't double check) My projects folder is pretty packed! I know I need to get a few of these uploaded, but today, I just want to build some more. *sigh* - I'll find some pictures and add them here - so you can see what I've got in the works. :D ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Sneak peek at my next lot/house... : 26th Apr 2011 at 2:15 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5463 ================================================================================ ...which is currently named Hilltop House - unique, original name huh? http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/27198_110426025916HilltopHouseNeighborhoodShot.jpg It is also a sloped lot. I found Inge's sloped lot templates - this one uses the 10-degree slope. It's another split-level 70's design - with a hidden attic room that will be lots of fun for witches. I'm trying to figure out how to make an 'above ground' pool... if I could ever get my game to load. Something in my CC 'windows' folder keeps crashing. I'll find the culprit eventually. I also have a triangle house I can't wait to try building. OK. Game is loaded. I think I'll go play with triangles for a while. :jest: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Happy EarthDay 2011! : 23rd Apr 2011 at 2:03 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5453 ================================================================================ Well, a day late - but it's up!!! My first house submission is approved! YAY! I hope I get lots of feedback (If your reading this... please give me feedback on the house ;) ) I've got another house in the works. Preview pix to come. ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Whew! : 15th Apr 2011 at 1:13 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5443 ================================================================================ OK. Now that the lip-glosses are finally up, and the waters seem calm  I'm going to upload (Mods willing and the creek don't rise) my first house! First house for upload, I mean... It's a single-story, eco-friendly modern house - spread over three different terraces/levels on a hillside lot. There are a lot of stairs (it's not handicap accessible! Sorry!) It has a swimmable and fishable pond, and trees on the roof. Yep, I said trees ON the roof... nature lovers and plant-sims beware! So far I've packaged it up and put it in an empty game to make sure everything still works (it's already been play-tested.) I've got the photos and most of the write-up done. I still have to make out the shopping list - I used very little CC, so that shouldn't take too long... Right? Rrrright. Well, anyway, I'm hoping to have it up by Earth-Day. ;) ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : DLs = 10K! YAY! : 27th Mar 2011 at 3:36 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5407 ================================================================================ WOW! 10K downloads! YAY, me!!! Now, :wtf: where are the 10k thankses? ...only 796? *Gripe* *Gripe* *Grumble* How can it be that my top DL has: 3853 views 4514 downloads (making the DL rate 117%) :heyhey: and only 148 "thanks"... Oi, whas'up w'that? ...Now I know why creators tend to "beg" for Thanks. Sheesh! ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Time to play ...or not. : 1st Feb 2011 at 4:04 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5319 ================================================================================ Well, I took today to play - you know, see what my sims have been doing for the last few months. Anyway, that's what was planned. Turns out I spent the day with Wardrobe Wrangler recategorising all my glasses, scarves, gloves, tutus, etc. that might want only to be used occasionally and not everyday/everywhere! :faceslap: Theoretically, they should now be with the BV jewelry, thus assignable by outfit. We'll see. Tomorrow. Oye! Now, sleep. :turtle: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Default EF Tops are up - YAY!!! : 28th Jan 2011 at 3:43 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5313 ================================================================================ Whew, that was a bit tricky... both making the defaults and getting through the queue. For some reason I could NOT submit clear enough pictures! I dunno what I was doing wrong, but I must've finally fixed it. :king: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "THANK YOU" CatOfEvilGenius! I couldn't have done this without her - on many levels. ;) If you want to learn how I default replaced a 1-group, non-alpha 'Maxis' mesh & textures with a 3-group alpha 'CC' mesh & textures, then visit this thread in the Creator Feedback Forum: here. Though, I'm afraid after reading it, you'll also learn why this Cat (me) is not a genius! OK, now, let's see what I'm gonna get rid of next..... :heyhey: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Found lavender blouse... : 22nd Jan 2011 at 11:55 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5305 ================================================================================ And with CatOfEvilGenius' help, it's now been restored to the game. Now, back to the default project... heh, heh, heh! :jest: (< The real evil!) What has been found shall soon be obliterated! ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : I'm done. I'm done. Done, done done. YAAAY!!!!! : 9th Jan 2011 at 12:06 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5277 ================================================================================ Done with the Great Wall Project! It's in the queue right now as I type. Yes! Oh, boy, what a relief. :Pint: Now, back to my previously unscheduled BS adventure. ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Progress! On the great Wall Project! : 5th Jan 2011 at 7:33 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5272 ================================================================================ OK - the Wall Overlays - Outside Edition has just been added to the queue. Let's see if I need to fix anything - and if it makes the upload cut. :turtle: :report: WooHoo - It's up and running already! Yay! That was fast!!! :bunny: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Whew! What a mess. Happy 2011, everybody! : 5th Jan 2011 at 3:17 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5269 ================================================================================ Here's what I'm working on right now: Default Replacements for G-ma. Yeesh, this was more than I bargained for! But, I think I'm really gonna like the end result! (You might too?) After this is sorted. I'll upload more of the wall project :turtle: ...promise. ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Right.... About that great big wall project... : 18th Dec 2010 at 3:32 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5231 ================================================================================ I was reminded (ever so gently) the other day, (thank you CatOfEvilGenius, who BTW is not Evil in the least  ) that I haven't completed my wall project's uploads. Ooooops! I got side-tracked. Shanghaied, really. By B.S. and all the great Defaults that are available now! I'm having so much fun rearranging my clothing catalog that I've completely forgotten about those walls. Sorry. They are almost ready for submission. I'll get to them soon. I promise, er... hope. Yeah, that's it. :giggler: Oh and, A Merry Christmas to All! Ho! Ho! Ho! ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : OK. The Border Overlays are in the queue. Whew! : 22nd Oct 2010 at 4:31 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5134 ================================================================================ At O-dark-thirty last night/this morning  I finally got the Big WallProject Pt 4 uploaded. Geesh! I didn't plan for that to take sooooooo long:!: I'll start gathering the info for Pt 5 later today (I hope.) This project has taken so long to complete that I've got bits and pieces of it scattered everywhere. I feel a bit like the Scarecrow from OZ... :king: I'll get it together... sooner than later I hope! :turtle: :turtle: :turtle: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : My Sims are not forgotten... : 11th Oct 2010 at 8:27 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5121 ================================================================================ ...they just haven't been visited in 2 weeks. RL has been keeping me way too busy. *Geesh* :wtf: You can check out some of what I've been doing here :here:: Catherine's Jewelry Bonanza Booth. Ready or not... Christmas IS coming! I gotta make money to feed my Sims habit! LOL! I've got my Overlays in order. But, I gotta finish up the Hiders. Then do the write up and submit it. I'll get there. Soon, I hope. :turtle: :turtle: :turtle: :lovestruc :turtle: ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : Just a quickie here: : 2nd Oct 2010 at 3:18 AM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5106 ================================================================================ :turtle: Upload #3 is finally in the Queue (however you spell it!??) I went ahead and included the LifeStyle Stories "completer" walls - why wait? I will start compiling the Inside-type Overlays tomorrow. Whew!!! :anime: Good Night! ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : YAY!!! Upload #2 is up and flying! : 19th Sep 2010 at 2:55 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5090 ================================================================================ My 2nd upload has been approved (thanks, Phae!) and is posted for everyone to use. Now to get busy presenting part 3 of my Big Wall Project... Here's an overview of the Big Wall Project: Part 1 = the Lost/Found Maxis "Eat At Tile's" walls Part 2 = adding some organization to the Maxis wall catalog Part 3 = original CC walls to complete Maxis sets (w/out trim!) Part 4 = "Inside" wall overlays - All from Maxis; w/optional hiders Part 5 = "Outside" wall overlays - All from Maxis; w/optional hiders Part 6 = Wall overlay extras (wallpaper borders, swags, etc.) Part 7 = adding the "Stories" walls to the mix Part 8 = ???? what else is needed??? :report: Then, I can start on floors... whew! :D On a personal note: our tank is empty no longer. Yesterday we welcomed Raymond (pronounced Raaaaymon, according to our daughter - like the firefly in The Princess and the Frog) to our menagerie. He's very quick, and named after a Disney bug, so his nickname is "Lightening". Come to think of it, he's also blue... Dynaco Blue. ;) ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : RIP Sydney.... : 14th Sep 2010 at 3:53 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5085 ================================================================================ Well, no heat stroke yesterday. But, RL did present a catastrophy - a fishy catastrophy. Sydney, our beautiful, ruby red, and unbeknownst to us when we bought him 6 months ago - ancient, beta fish is no longer with us. *sob* His sweet little tank is all clean now, and waiting for a new resident (we can't wallow in grief too long, right?) Services were held yesterday on our front porch (graveside,) with our regularly scheduled lunch immediately afterwards. Attention was given to our 6-year old daughter in leu of finishing my current MTS2 submission. This morning she is demanding to go to the pet store... life is back to normal. Oh, wait, suprise company will be here in 3 hours! Yes, they're staying for dinner. *sigh* Maybe I'll get back to my Simmies tomorrow? ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : I'm hoping to get this uploaded today... : 13th Sep 2010 at 3:44 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5083 ================================================================================ I've got the next part of my "Wall Project" ready (I think?) I've fixed several Maxis category issues - like brick walls in the poured category, and wallpaper in with paint, etc... If I can get things written up before RL interferes today, I'll get this uploaded to the cue. RL might involve heat-stroke today. :faceslap: Hubby and I are a Steel Drum band, who play at Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort - today we are scheduled during the heat of the day, in pretty much direct sunlight (probably more than 100 degrees!) UGH! Don't get me wrong, I love my job - but really? We usually play in the evening, in the shade... ================================================================================ ================================================================================ : WooHoo! I'm published!!! : 8th Sep 2010 at 3:13 PM : https://modthesims.info/journal.php?do=showentry&e=5075 ================================================================================ WOW! My first upload - and it was accepted! Well, actually, it's my second upload: I did some fireplace recolors over at Sims 2 Artists (Contempo Fireplace recolors ) And, I entered a few dec-o-rate contests over at BPS... But... MTS has been "home" for YEARS (literally) and, I'm very pleased to finally be a contributor here. As I alluded to in my upload/post - I'm working on a really BIG wall project. I've hidden all the redundant Maxis walls (you know, all the 'same' walls that have different trims) and made wall overlays using Numenor/Pixelhate's design template. So, now my wall catalog is a lot neater - and smaller! And, if I want white crown molding on my grungy cement-block walls, then I can do it! :) Now that I'm familiar with the upload/approval process, I'll start trying to 'publish' my wall project. The only other thing I'd like accomplished with this project is to be able to organize the walls by color. (All the blues together, all the greens together, all the floral paper...) OCD, I know, but, well, hey - look at the rest of this project! *yikes* So, anyway, if anyone has any ideas about said organization process, please spill! :report: ================================================================================ : ---End File---
