Default WCIF A less dark Midnight Hollow?
I just love things that are creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky. I thought Midnight Hollow would hit the perfect sweet spot of design, but the design is useless if It's too dark to see any of it! From the plant life, to the houses, to most of the citizens, to even the rabbitholes, I need to bring a flashlight into this town just to find my sim's mailbox! There were some nice features in this town, but largely it was disappointing.

I'm looking for either a "brightened" version of Midnight Hollow, or a world very similar to it. To make it easy, I'll list the things I liked and didn't like in Midnight Hollow so it'll be easier to find a replacement.

LIKES
  • The "Tim Burton" aesthetic of the town
  • The Townsfolk were all unique and likable
  • Lots of single Sims with the potential to start families
  • A steampunk vibe in some parts without it being overbearing
  • Community lots available to customize
  • Victorian architecture everywhere
  • Great potential to introduce supernatural elements

DISLIKES
  • Too dark to see anything
  • The entire town has only three roads in it, one of which is completely empty
  • The plant life is all too dark to be seen, and harvestable ones stick out too much
  • Water features are few and far between
  • The pre-built houses all had weird layouts
  • Any variation outside the Spooky theme looked completely out of place
  • Practically no ways for sims to become self-sufficient by gardening or fishing
  • Community Lots were difficult to navigate
  • NPCs were all grey and looked liked ghosts. I like NPCs that look alive

So, if there is a world out there that meets most of my requirements, I'd like to find it.

There was a thread a few months back asking for a brighter Midnight Hollow, and there seems to be a lighting mod specifically for that town: http://linna.modthesims.info/showth...ighlight=hollow

There's a grass texture replacement over at Sims Asylum too, though I believe you need to register (but there's a lot of good stuff so it's beyond worth it!):
http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php...in-replacement/

It replaces the black grass of MH with the grass from Moonlight Falls and is much easier on the eyes

Oh, and aminovas has made a texture replacement for the MH plants similar to her basegame plants DR:

Dutchysims made an altered version of Moonlight Falls that might help you, and Blitzgal released a savegame using things from Midnight Hollow as a mix of both. Maybe it'll work for you? http://blitzgal.tumblr.com/post/638...ove-the-idea-of

Anyone know if the Burnt Waffles lighting mod is a global mod or just for Midnight Hollow?

Just tested it in the Bigger Builder's Island and it appears to be global:

Thank you! I've downloaded, but not popped it in. Now I know not to until I want to play in that world.

This looks just about perfect, but is it CC heavy? I'm in the process of tidying up my CC files.

I think the plain world file is CC free, the savegame might need the rabbithole recolors listed, but it should work without.

I found a link that shows a bit of the roads and confirms it needs no CC http://erissims3ccfinds.tumblr.com/...moonlight-falls
