Default More expensive?
Usually EP's go for $40 AUD down here. But I've looked in a couple of shops (same chain, different locations) and they're advertising Pets for $50! Is it more expensive where you guys are?

Huh, that's odd.

At first I thought maybe it was marked wrong, but then at the same chain it was the same price... I'll check up at some other stores, though.

Sims 2 Pets is near NZ$50, Nightlife is also $50. I think all expansion packs are $50, and stuff packs about $30.

at warehouse FFS was meant to be NZ$50! I told them it WASNT and EP,but they insisted it was.I said 'What do you know? YOu dont even know when you get your games in!?!' They hund up,and 2days later, FFS was$15 xD
And on GPSTORE, GLS was meant to be $50,but they soon reduced the price also.
So,jst wait or it to be nearer the release, and its bound to be cheaper =D

It looks like they are more expensive over here (the Netherlands) too.
The cheapest one i could find is 34.99 euro, but this is with 5 euro discount (http://dimplus.nl/index3.asp?url=/link.asp?pid=761320)
The other EP's all were 34.99 euro. No discount on them.

The store where i always buy my EP's has them for a very weird price, 35.55 euro ( ) (http://www.nlstore.nl/shop4/ShopExd...3=5030946052486)
All other EP's were 34.94 (http://www.nlstore.nl/shop4/ShopExd...3=5030946045365)

That's weird... I know it's only $10 extra, but I'm just wondering why they marked it up?

It does seem a better expansion pack than the rest.. but I doubt that's why.
#10 Old 1st Oct 2006 at 10:56 AM
I found it for 29,99 Euro plus a discount of 2,09 Euro so it would be 27,90 Euro... which would be like 33 to 35 Dollars!

melanie,FFS was only $15 for a few days, becuase it was marked up at the wrong price, lol. i think DSE is the cheapest, and most reliable, same as harvey norman.we dont have EB up here, which is a shame, but oh well.
Im gonna be getting mine from DSE for sure, unless GPSTORE bring in a bonus

I've noticed the same thing.

All of my other expansions, I managed to find for $AU38.
But pets? Most are AT LEAST $AU50. The lowest I've seen it anywhere is $42, which was the average retail price for the other expansions.

I tend to buy my Sims games from KMart or Target, since I'm a cheapass, and they've always been up to $15 cheaper than EB, Harvey Norman, and Myer.

Sometimes... For example... University was on sell for HKD$270 when it first came out, but Nightlife was about $320, and Open for Business was about $ 300, when the base game came out first, it was $375 for the regular version and about $600 for the special edition with the cushion/hottub thing...

*Glares* >:( What are you looking at?

I live in Melbourne, and I'm almost 100% sure that I've seen the expansions for $28 AUD, in fact, I'm almost positive my Nightlife was that much...This is from K-Mart, btw! (and eden, I'm a cheapass too, I get my games from K-mart or Target)

My cellmate's a killer, they make me do push-ups in drag.

Yeah I went to EB in the Morley Gallery a week ago and they had it promoted for $50.00 as well.. I thought that was quite odd. They must be upping the prices because they probably know it will sell well.

I paid 35,99 euro for an expansion and 14,99 euro for a stuff pack...
Pets is going to cost 39,99... So it's a little more expansive here...

I haven't even been paying attention to the price of the game..
Most EP's here are uh..I think I got Nightlife and OFB for around $35..Uni I wouldn't know because it was a Christmas gift..same as the base game..and I don't have any stuff packs..but yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Pets was gonna be a bit more.

I agree, I was thinking that as well. They know how anticipated the Pets expansion is, and to up the price isn't going to stop people buying it.
