Default MacOS and CC
I'm a bit new in playing the Sims 3 and was interested in downloading and using custom content in my game, I currently play on a Macbook air 2023. I tried downloading .package files but they didn't show up in game and began to read forums of Mac users saying that .package custom content doesn't show up in game so I resorted to using .Sim3packs. I got curious and wanted to know if there was a way for me to convert .package files to .Sim3pack and I found the Sims3Pack File Generate Tool by Sakura4 and was successfully able to convert the .package file to a .Sim3pack, but it only seemed to convert the CC to an object and not a CAS Part. Is there a way to convert the type of Custom Content and convert the object into a CAS Part?

Just to back up a step here, are you using Crossover to run the Windows version of TS3 or only to run the Sims3Pack creation utility?

There are indeed some not-so-fun issues with the Mac versions of TS3, but being unable to use package based content really shouldn't be one of them. After all, mods (not CC, I mean actual Tuning and Script Mods) are always package based and can never be sims3packs. Do you have the Framework setup exactly as pictured here , of course disregarding the stuff around the edges being Windows? The setup on Macs, old or new, is the same.

I'm using Crossover to run only the Sims3Pack creation utility. Sorry about the confusion about the package based items. I'm able to download the package based mods but its the custom content like skin, hairs, and accessories that didn't show up in the game. I did figure out how to make the custom content skin, hair, and accessories show up in the game though, I converted the clothes to Sim3Packs and ig they just sorted themselves into the CAS Part category and putting the skins in the override folder as a package had them show up in game along with makeup and lenses showing up in the makeup or face paint category in cas.

On the package based CC not showing up (when in package format), are you clearing/deleting the five cache files on the top level of your TS3 user game folder where your Mods folder is? Some players do this before starting up the game every time anyway, but these files certainly need to be cleared whenever the contents of Mods\Packages or Overrides changes in any way and they will regenerate on the next attempted startup of the game.

If stale cache files are not the issue, then I remain puzzled but glad you have a solution that does eventually work.
