It does.
With The Sims Will Wright told us "here's how you make a sim, here's how you make a house. Go crazy". Now with Spore, if they manage to make it to the scope they plan to, he's telling us "here's life as we know it. Go nuts"

"If we value the pursuit of knowledge, we must be free to follow wherever that search may lead us. The free mind is no barking dog to be tethered on a ten-foot chain."

No offence, but this is WELL old, seriousely all being sims2 players i expected more. I new about this months ago. u should see the video at one point Gatesy goes "nobody gives a shit" and "there goes my representation of a none violent games developer"-after he blew up an alien planet.

Rest assured the gameplay is very different. Spore is a mixture of arcade games (the early stages of life are basic gobble em up arcade games), empire management sim and combative strategy title.

Looking forward to see if they pull it off. The procedurally generated organisms excite me so.

And guys don't say a game is 'addicting'. That is a horrible massacre of the English language. The word is 'addictive'. Thank you. :)

This game is seriously going to be awesome. I cannot wait to get it, I think I may like it more than TS2.
I wonder if it's going to go the Sims way and have 5753886 expansion packs XD

The creatures are procedurally generated based on design decisions you make. It is entirely possible to have a race of care-bare look alikes if you wish.

Don't like the dinosaur look? Make it different.

I saw a whole video on Spore a month ago. It seemed amazing when I watched it, but all together it seemed too complex for me. I don't know why, but having a whole universe that I could do anything I want with will probably make my head explode... but apart from that I'd definitely get the game.

From what I have read there is no need to stop working on sims 2 expansions.

Spore looks amazing in terms of what you can do, and it certainly appeals to me more than the Sims 2 does. :D

Story books are full of fairy tales, of Kings and Queens, and the bluest skies.

i dont get it... :P

Edit: Ooh now i get it looks cool actually...

Now I'm not looking for absolution. Forgiveness for the things I do. But before you come to any conclusions. Try walking in my shoes. You'll stumble in my footsteps.
