Has anyone used this? Does it work easily, smoothly? I've been wanting to try it, might be a good gift for my Sims.

"If Holidays mod is installed, then on the Holiday, the givee sim always accepts the gift given to him/her through this interaction. There is no gift rejection on Holiday."

I haven't tried it, but it has the same restrictions on relationships as the other 'give' option does-with this noted exception-unless you don't have Happy Holidays.

I've tried it a couple of times on test sims and it seems to work well in my game. I haven't used it in regular play yet. I haven't used the Maxis version much either because I keep forgetting to put stuff into their inventories so that they can give gifts.

@Keysmash I always add a small copy of a picture of each items in my downloads folder otherwise I will forget what I have and what it look like. I sometime just copy and paste a picture of the items for that purpose only. It's a big help.
And it help when cleaning out your downloads I look at the picture and decide if I still want it still if not Out it goes, accept for all custom foods I leave them in or as is to prevent corruption..

Some playing time. I haven't loaded up my game in a few weeks, due to not wanting to play. I don't have really anything else to do tomorrow, so I might play.

I always give them turkey for Christmas Dinner.
. . .
Andrew "And I always have to cook it. "
Me "But, Andrew, I'm vegetarian and I can't really cook Sim food. . . Anyway, I thought you liked cooking."
Andrew "I do. But that's not the point. You're still making work for me to do. "
. . .
What am I to do with him? There are only a handful of Sims in the neighbourhood who can cook turkey. I think he's still upset because he burnt the turkey at Thanksgiving. Despite me giving him No More Fires, Don't walk away while Cooking and Less Burnt Food with Cooking Skill mods to help him. He's cooked turkey loads of times before -- I don't know how he burnt it.
. . .
Me "Don't worry about it Andrew. I often burn food too. More often than you. "

I used to do that but took them all out because the game looks at all files in the Downloads folder and including pictures and text descriptions just gives it more junk to look through and may make the game take longer to load.

I leave the images and descriptions in the master download folder (the big messy one where all the downloaded .zip and .rar files go). I remove that stuff when extracting mods and CC into my game's Downloads folder.

On Christmas day I give every household I play a motherlode gift. It may not be Christmas in their hood, so I don't want to give them trees or sims gifts.

I received Sims 2 (the base game) and university on CD-ROM as a gift last christmas from an old friend after more than ten years of playing, so it is kind of a personal celebration for me this year. Since I don't care about cars but a lot of my pixels have the wish of owning one, I downloaded quite a bunch of them and will try them out tomorrow. I doesn't matter to me since they don't use them that much in my game, but it makes fulfilling that wish a lot more satisfying if it isn't the some old five maxis standard cars to buy for them,

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I'll put it here under "matters arising".

They did get their Christmas turkey, and Andrew cooked it. This year it was at the Moltkes. As Mr. and Mrs Moltke (perhaps that should be "Herr und Frau") work in an essential service (Veronaville Police Force), Julian and Andrew were left to provide a Christmas Lunch for Julian's younger siblings and the mass of children that little Hans had invited. So Andrew and Julian wish you all, Sims and Simmers all over the world, a Very Merry Christmas! Perhaps that will still be in time if we have any active members in Hawaii or Alaska!

(They kept some turkey back for Julian's parents when they get home from work. And I think they'll probably invite Gloria round in the afternoon. She seems to be working too -- I think the Veronaville All-Stars must be playing at home.)

I've never played with free will off. Do they just stand around unless directed to perform an action?

Yes, they do. With all the animations of dead pixels. Even when they're urgently needing to use the bathroom. Which is why I never turn free will off. I might be a sim god, but I'm not omnipotent or interested in becoming their mother..

for the most part they do.
though there are some things that happen even with free will off; mostly reaction type of behavior.
also, visitors/passerby still have free will.

Florence Delariosa and my young pal Andrew Jones (who only met for the first time last night, but are friends already) got together to drink a toast to the New Year. They wish you all, and of course all your Sims, a Happy and Prosperous 2019!

(Justpetro, if you should happen to be reading this, Andrew wants to point out that he always drinks responsibly! )

I gave Florence 350 Simoleons as a New Year present so she wouldn't be out of pocket buying that bottle of wine. It's a lot to pay to toast the New Year!

@AndrewGloria - well, the legal drinking age in my country is 18, so I will just assume Andrew is 18 (or at least looks 18) and I hope he enjoys his New Year drink. Glad to see he gets along with Florence, I love her.
