Default Troubles with simPe (on UC)
Hello !

Because I wanted to create my own townies (and thus, be able to change the family name etc.), I downloaded SimPE here -> https://sims.ambertation.de/en/ (got the 0_73_44 version of it) and followed the instructions concerning UC here -> http://www.simbology.com/smf/index....9.msg172654#new (that is to say, I changed the "expansions" file) and here ->http://simmanipulator.forumotion.co...mate-collection (and changed as well the paths to the right ones - because, the ones in my SimPE weren't correct).

Still, despite all this, when I launch SimPE I get a strange message saying that "SimPe detected a new expansion pack for the Sims 2, this version does only work with game versions up to Mansions and Garden Stuff" - newer files might cause Errors when opened with this version of SimPe". Even though I seem to have downloaded the latest version of SimPE ? (did I make a mistake here ? :o)

The message doesn't prevent me from opening SimPe, so at first - giving the fact that I had no idea what else I could do to solve this problem - I did not pay that much attention to it. And today, when I tried to modify a sim's stats, I couldn't. The thing is, after I choose the neighborhood and click on the "Sims browser" all the sims appear, but I can't select them. When I click on "open" nothing happens. So I guess that this issue is linked with the first one ?

I don't know if it matters, but I have windows 10. If need be, I can make screens of my SimPE to help you,
Thank you for you help in advance :o

You've downloaded the right version of SimPE - I don't know why you're getting that error but I don't think you need to worry about it.

The issue with editing sim stats is almost certainly a memory issue. Try opening SimPE, then going to the Object Workshop tab at the bottom and clicking Start. Wait for the progress bar to go across and then try again with the Neighbourhood Browser/Sim Browser.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.
