Default Standard Lot Sizes?
What are some good sizes for lots? I made the mistake of making mine 10x10 and 5x10, which is far too small for most houses, it seems.

20x20 is about the smallest you should use. Rabbitholes are sometimes smaller but houses are 20 x 20, 30 x 20, 20x30, 30x40, 40x30 40x40, etc up to 60 x 60. Hope this helps. If in doubt just check the lots availabe for download and see the sizes used for them

I guess a lot of it depends on personal preference. I don't like big lots, so for me the ideal size is 20x30 (the size of the lots on the seafront in SV).

EDIT: a couple of 10x10 lots can be really good for poor sims.

Well it depends, If you're planning on building everything you have more flexibility (Though you should still keep it to multiples of 5) however if you aren't building than you should keep to the more standard lot sizes

I like 10x20 for narrow lots too - I've recreated several of plasticbox's Backdoor Lane lots for TS2 in TS3 and they work nicely on 10x20.
