Default The Disagree Troll
I noticed in the "How Are You Today" that some troll has marked mine and smorbie1's post with a disagree.

With great power comes great responsibility...a common phrase that was interlaced throughout the 2002 Spider-Man. It applies directly to the disagree button.

We did not say anything vulgar, it was just me and smorbie1, who are two women who are trying to reclaim our bodies from illness. We were cracking jokes about my hump on my back that was of concern. I also donated a blood draw's worth of blood for testing purposes.

There was nothing sexual about the ceiling dream.

You know, if you keep it up, we're not going to replace the sheep if you keep crying Wolf.

It's just a symptom of the net. Sooner or later there will be a person who clicks dislike, maybe because they're bored and have nothing else to do but make you wonder why they've disliked that particular post. There are a lot of net-trolls out there, and they usually do things like this to keep themselves entertained.

I think they're related to the people who makes that single one one-star review in every single review on sites like Amazon and Tripadvisor, or wherever else there are reviews. You also see it on Youtube. No matter how likeable a video is, there's always at least one person who clicks dislike because of whatever reason.

My advice is to just ignore them. They probably won't go away, but at least you don't need to think about it any more. They only get that one dislike click, so unless you get a ton of dislikes it's just some person trolling around. Could also be they genuinely dislike your post, but unless they comment on why, you'll never know, so best not to think about it too much.

Simmer22 is right, sweets. We like to think this site is immune because most of us try very hard to be kind to each other, and if we have nothing to say, we just don't respond. But there always seems to be one rotten apple in every bag, doesn't there?

For a good little while a year or so ago I actually had a troll fan on this site. He followed me around disagreeing with everything I said, no matter what the topic. When he finally quit, I kind of missed him.

Anywho, just try to ignore if you can. BTW, the dream you talked about on the other thread was funny. Last night I dreamt I went to MickeyD's for a hamburger but got so sleepy I drove out of line and took a nap by the dumpsters without even eating it.

PANDAQUEEN, people who are trolls don't click disagree because they disagree with you they simply want to see the red button and hope they will get you to respond back. They probably didn't even read your post. Your best response is to ignore them.

I'll admit that I'm doing it here just to be a smart-ass. Don't take it to heart.

EDIT: I disliked my own post, too.

Dear Disagree Trolls,

There have been times when I've received fewer Disagrees than I probably ought. Would now be a good time for some catching up? I don't generate very many posts these days, but feel free to use this one.

Regards,
Ronnie.

The disagree button is a badge of honour. When someone disagrees with you, then you know you have done something right. You fought the opinion wars and won.

Why did you win? Because you dared to think different. And the world needs more men and women on the front lines.

Because the earth is standing still, and the truth becomes a lie

Ya know - HarVee has a point there. It's not every disagree by any means, but he's got a point.

/me waits for the one disagree that this post is 100% sure to get

@HarVee

I may have earned this badge of honor numerous times, but the troll is indiscriminately disagreeing.

A couple days ago I saw a post that included only a helpful reference link. No comment, no discussion. And that post had a disagree vote!
There always has to be that one pot-stirrer, that one 12-year-old (or with a mentality of a 12-year-old) without a real life that doesn't know any other way to have fun.
Pity the poor losers!

This made me SMILE.
If it will make you feel better, I can follow you around for the day and Disagree all your posts. (nah, I couldn't even do that to be nice. LOL)

lol. It's weird, cause I felt targeted at first, then I kind of just didn't notice him anymore till he was gone.

I guess I maybe used to this sort of thing, it is fairly common on the World of Warcraft forums. They have a up vote and down vote option, there are people who seem to just go around and down vote everything, no matter how well thought out the post is. I wouldn't pay any mind to it. It really means nothing in the long run. There are people who will click disagree, even if you post cute and fluffy kitteh pictures. Don't let the disagree fairy bother you.

Some people are so low in life that they need the attention and start trolling on sites like this. Probably got roasted on reddit or 4chan.

It's mildly interesting that the disagree troll has been disagreeing all posts for so many weeks. Seems like a bit of a waste of time.

I don't think they're just because trolls, though not denying that there are slight number of people that do that. Usually (I bet) most see that button as equivalent to dislike button. Even if the comment isn't disagreeble, they probably dislike it for other reasons. If you commented that you donated blood, perhaps the person who clicked "disagree" on that dislike the idea that you draw your blood out for the better of humanity.

I knot it sounds absurd, but people might dislike a thing or two for a good reason. Though this thread itself with the disagree button abuse by trolls, which I can agree here.

Eh, trolls get their jollies out of seeing people react to it. It's probably best not to pay any notice.

lol. I hadn't realized how much I missed my disagree stalker until the new troll started. Now, it just makes me happy to see he's read my post and disagreed with it.

Same here. When I look at peoples posts, I take away one disagree before I judge peoples response to it.

It looks like he has. His post was weird in that one thread, not really what I've come to expect from HarVee. I thought enough action was taken in the thread...maybe there was more elsewhere? I don't know what got into him and I'm sad to see him gone. Normally, he contributes a lot that is heartfelt and unique in perspective. I hope the ban is only temporary.
